New Pump Technology to Save Water Australia Wide
Every year, Australians lose huge amounts of water due to burst water pipes/valves and faulty pumps and equipment. As world water shortages continue to escalate, preservation of our water resources is a key necessity in Australia’s national population and agricultural polices.
The statistics, both nationally and worldwide, paint a very dim picture toward our overall water supply. Australia is a nation that is constantly threatened with drought. In other countries, such as the USA, 50% of metropolitan cities are running out of water. Singapore is estimated to run out of water by 2030. On another scale, up to 30% of fresh water supplies are lost due to leakage in developed countries, and in some major cities losses can run as high as 40% to 70%.
The H20 Pressure Pump Controller has recently launched in Australia. Developed locally by Director, Robert Porter-Coote, the compact and clever water control and monitoring device has many applications and far-reaching environmental and cost-saving implications. It has the potential to save households and commercial premises up to 180 million litres of water a year, nationwide.
The intelligent device monitors the flow of electricity, rather than the flow of water to a pump – enabling the H20 to intuitively sense when a pump is running unnecessarily and effectively shut off the water supply if a tap is burst or left on.
Small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, safe, robust and durable, the H20 Water Pressure Controller is adaptable to all applications - domestic, commercial and rural .
Robert Porter-Coote said that the H20 Water Pressure Controller would ensure that only minimal amounts of water would be lost. “It provides a continual flow of water for a preset period of time from when the tap is turned on and then when that time limit is reached it stops pumping”, he says.
“It is the first product of its kind and has massive implication for our ongoing water shortage issues. It provides security and peace of mind for farmers who can rest assured their entire water reserve will not be lost due to accident or fault.”
The H20 Organiser device can also protect schools (who have massive water wastage out of school hours) and households.
Due to its solid marketability, strong interest in the product has been received from overseas customers and distributors, and recent distribution MOU’s have been signed for Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore and Indonesia.
The H20 Pressure Pump Controller is currently available by individual order and is due to go into commercial production in October 2010.
